I shot these today in front of the California Supreme Court.

The moment of the day was when I rode my bicycle on the street which separated the two crowds of people backed by barricades and policemen. Not everyday do you get to ride your bike between to giant masses of competing people. I felt like I was Moses crossing the Red Sea or I was walking through the DMZ which separates North and South Korea.

I saw this one through the window working at Dior and I pulled her out. It was her first day working and she was in the middle of something but her boss was kind enough to let me borrow her for a second to take a picture. It turns out that I met her towards the end of last year through a friend.

Look who I ran into yesterday

The one and only Naked Cowboy.

Strolling along on my bicycle looking out for beautiful ensembles and layers of fabrics meshed together in a creative fashion, I found myself being drawn in to not fabric, but instead the abundance of flesh and the sound of a guitar. Shizam. It was the Naked Cowboy working Union Square, not Times Square.

I saw him in the subway station on the way to Union Square. A great job layering and mixing. A very fresh and cool look.

His attire was nothing crazy expensive but just well put together. The colors blended very well in my opinion.

So after my quick encounter with this man, my friend and I pondered, "Does money make people into assholes?" As you can tell, he really wanted his picture posted on the internet. Dope outfit though. Jim Jones would be proud.

Zachary works at the Marc Jacobs store here in San Francisco. The man is always dressed sharp and is one of the best dressed people here in this city. Also, he is ALWAYS head to toe in Marc Jacobs.

5th Anniversary Protests in San Francisco

So I was taking a nap which I seldom ever do (the only sleep I got was an hour in the school cafeteria) and I am woken up by shouting through megaphones, people yelling, a marching  band and the sound of thousands of people marching outside. I was confused, was it already another anniversary of the war in Iraq? I go online and confirm that it is the 19th (for some reason I have the 23rd in my head), and then put clothes on and grab my camera on my way out the door...

The first thing I thought was "This is why I had moved to San Francisco." Protest in Huntington Beach? Maybe a miniature get together at the pier every once in a while... But this... All of Mission Street shut down with thousands of people. It strikes a deep and meaningful chord within, whether or not you agree, but to see people act together for a common belief that they are willing to stand up strikes the roots of the human spirit. It also made me appreciate the valuable right to gather and protest. The police closed off traffic for the protestors to gather peacefully. Another great contributing factor to my overall appreciation of this protest was the protest going on in Tibet. For them, to have ownership of the Tibetan flag is illegal. For them, to protest is illegal. For us, despite all of the faults and corruptions of this system we live in that we can complain about, it does in fact make you appreciate the rights we do have.
