city folks

for me, it's not about the clothing. it's about the expressions behind the clothing which carry a whole other meaning and value.

the unique sense of satisfaction that stems from piecing and assembling together a display designed and tailored for you and your likings seems to grow and nurture a sense of confidence that becomes the forefront and foundation for what you are wearing. what i'm saying is that confidence emanates from effort, so throw a little effort in the pot and watch your shit grow.

often, it is not what you are wearing, but how you are wearing it.

each of these subjects easily reminds us of that.

life

how we choose to celebrate life defines us. it gives us character. it gives us individuality. our passions separate and bring us together. it is why we take our breaths. find a reason to breathe.

sf meets the sartorialist

the line to get your book signed went through the store, down geary and around the corner on kearny. i walked the back to the front and back to the back to analyze the situation and observe the good-looking and stylish. i said fuck it and walked around the back and had an employee let me in the back door.

Haircut

I met Ashlee on the first day of senior year during high school. She was cute and she looked new and I was passing out campus maps as a proud member of ASB. "Do you need a map?" And then we were friends. I was her first friend at Huntington Beach High School. She was one of those sets of ears I could speak into when my mind would wander to dark places in the middle of the night. We know each other too well.
